'be here' was a manifestation that celebrated the work of Dutch artist herman de vries, who on the 11th of July of that year turned 90 years old. Special to this event was the formation of the herman de vries guerrilla art group, from which I was a co-initiator and core member, together with a number of artists, art historians, and enthusiasts who, along with herman, ARTisBOOK, and Galerie Block C, re-thought ways of bringing herman’s work outside of our art spaces and into the city of Groningen. This resulted in a diversity of actions, such as collective writings, public performances, workshops for kids, movie screenings among many others.
